Eating City Summer Campus
Annual in-person meeting of the Buy Better Food Campaign at the 9th edition of the Eating City Summer Campus, joining together constructive brainstorming for the future of the Buy Better Food and engaging the Youth Ambassador Network with a thought-provoking role-play game highlighting the challenges of reaching consensus among multiple stakeholders with diverse interests in a food tender setting.
France Urbaine Webinar: the EU and Sustainable Food Procurement
At the France Urbaine Webinar on "How the EU can help us advance towards more sustainable food systems," Buy Better Food was invited to present its advocacy work at the European level. The discussion focused on the progress of the Sustainable Food Systems Law Framework (SFS Law) and hwo it can support sustainable and healthy food in public canteens across Europe.

Buy Better Food conducted a polling in six EU countries to better understand what EU citizens expect for their public canteens and the results are quite telling: public food should ensure healthy food, help reduce our climate foot-print and support small-scale food producers. The Manifesto, Procura+ and the Buygreen Forum
October was an eventful month, marking the culmination of six months of intense collaboration with the EU FPC to develop the Manifesto for Minimum Sustainability Standards for Public Canteens. The Manifesto was officially launched during the high-level session at the European Week of Regions and Cities, with participation from Torres Vedras (Portugal) and the South-Tyrol Region (Italy). Additionally, Buy Better Food took part in the Procura+ Seminar in Schaerbeek (Brussels) and the Buygreen Forum in Rome to share and present the latest advancements in sustainable, circular and innovative public procurement.
When everything started
The Buy Better Food campaign was launched. The core team came together for the first time, and the coalition started expanding with more and more NGOs, civil society organisations, and local and regional governments.
